In an effort to advance equity in medicine, women across the field are working tirelessly to develop comprehensive maternity policies within medical education. To fully uphold Title IX and meaningfully support women in medicine, these policies must protect mothers, expectant mothers, and women who aspire to become mothers—without forcing them to choose between family planning and professional growth. Establishing clear, equitable maternity policies not only safeguards these individuals but also strengthens the medical profession by ensuring women can pursue rigorous medical training while continuing to advance academically and professionally. In support of this mission, I have collaborated with Kristine Wilson to develop merchandise that raises awareness of this critical need and promote equity within medical education.
